Exhausts

At Buxton Car Centre Service & Repairs, we supply high quality steel and stainless steel exhausts, for all makes and models, which are usually fitted while you wait.

We keep a wide range of exhaust systems and parts in stock ready for immediate fitting, but if we don’t have the correct parts for your vehicle we can have them supplied within the hour.

Our exhaust fitters are fully trained and experienced to work on all vehicles, from small cars to light commercial vehicles.

Within the Buxton area we will match or beat like-for-like prices and we monitor exhaust prices to ensure that our customers always get the best possible price.

Exhaust pipe exhausted?

If you notice any of the following problems you should arrange to have your exhaust system checked by our mechanics, to find out whether or not there is an issue and whether it needs repairing or replacing:

Noises

  • Rattling – may indicate loose brackets, which hold the system in place
  • Roaring – could mean that there are potential problems with the silence
  • Hissing or popping – could be a sign that the muffler or one of the pipes is leaking

Emissions

  • Blue smoke – could indicate a fault in the engine, which is putting burnt oil into the exhaust system
  • White smoke – when the engine first starts is normal, but if it continues it could be a coolant leak caised by  a leaking head gasket or a crack in the engine block.

Visual appearance

If there is rust or corrosion on the pipe, together with cracks, especially where the pipes connect, we recommend that you book in to have your exhaust pipe inspected.
